About Me and Why I Teach

I graduated from Kuna High School in the year 2004.  During my time as a student in Kuna I was your typical High School student; I had very few aspirations beyond making it through each day.  I would wake up in the morning and look into a mirror and see only the possibility of that day.

After graduating from High School, I entered the workforce as a pizza delivery boy.  It was just the experience I need to realize that it was good to work; however, it also developed an understanding that there had to be more possibilities for me than that.  Not much later, I went to England for two years.  While in England I found an increased love of literature and psychology.  Upon my return home I struggled to find a window of opportunity.

I did find one, a window of opportunity, eventually.  Now, having attended the College of Western Idaho and The College of Idaho, I have earned my BA in Literature Studies.  I also took as many classes as I could manage that dealt with psychology.  Both subjects filled my schedules as I worked toward the end goal of becoming an educator.  Combining the two helped me to focus on my reflection in that mirror and see through to the potential and untapped possibilities.

Now it is my dream to help students see their own potential when they look in that mirror in the morning; turning that mirror into a window, allowing them to see the possibilities upon the horizon, and that they may rise up into that horizon to be larger than any building.

It does not matter the situation they are from.  It does not matter what their background.  It does not matter about their past.  Those things simply inform their future, and that's what I want to focus on; I wish to help all students achieve their greatest possible potential, whatever they decide that might be.

I do this for them; it is about helping students achieve their potential, achieving their goals, as I have strived to do.
